Working Man's Dreams

28/5/2010

I dreamt of a man who had all money could buy
     A beautiful wife
     Kids without strife
     An enviable life
But alone in the dark his soul out did cry

It cried out for those things beyond money alone
     It cried out for dreams
     It cried for divine teams
Is this world all that it seems?
Toward tears such as these are so many men prone

What is to be done when there are responsibilities to be had
     Cant just up and quit
     Nor from home split
With dreams of a better fit
The hardest to leave is the progeny of one's lass and lad

And so many find themselves in dilemma's like this
     Soul searching is easy
     With no home nor family
     No responsibilty
Hence the tear bestween desire and past choice which leads to crisis

Providing for one's family in the things they want
     Tis no easy task
     For help some must ask
Or they put on a false mask
And turn their backs on dreams that for their life shall always taunt

These dreams come back in force that is full
     Given some time
The roots grow deep, and fine
To break later is no crime
Even if for 30 years, one must take care of business in lull

So for those who have dreams of something someday
     Have patience
Listen to your voice of conscience
     It provides luminessence
This path will in the end pay

We all get what we want
If our posture is staunt
Our small successes we dont flaunt

Just keep your head down
Work and toil without reknown
Ley your work stack high from the ground

If expectations are low
And your final success you know
The world will read what you sow

Light Warrior

I call myself a warrior
     I battle for the light
Yet there is no sword in hand

Intergrity, honor, and bravery
I fight for what is right
To protect my fellow men

I carry forth the torch
     To corners dark and mean
And gently light the way

Some who live in darkness
     Their eyes it may scorch
Tis a price they must pay

For when you battle warriors
      Who represent the light
A great power watches over them

For when blessed by truth
      It radiates strength and might
And they have no fear of the end

The problem with this is that none can know all and people get confused
They fight for unjust causes and think they serve the light but by darkness they are
     used

A first clue to what is dark is violence done without remorse for this is only as a last resort to be used
Violence is the last and worst spell to cast for blood can bring on a generational
      deep feud

Another trick is faith that requires one to blind their senses gifted by all
With some much wonder here, to turn a deaf, dumb ear is not the divine call

One think I know, God wants us to look and know, to experience beauty every day
We humans can resolve and differences absolve, if only we stop and say

I am a warrior of light
I fight only when its right
And this is a sad occassion with no other choice

I will not be blind
I will see all I find
And while on this world I will rejoice

Thank you God for this life, this breath, and this love

Mountain Peak

15/5/2010

Standing on my own two feet
On the top of a mountain
I've reached it's peak

Far down below in the valley with town
     People go about their business
Making their rounds

UP HERE I STAND, TALL AND ALONE
     The wind at my back
The mighty sun shone

I scream toward the heavens at the top of my lungs
     I've climbed the ladder
Each one of its rungs

Thanks be to God for such sweet spledor
    The cloud dancing peaks
Are a sight to remember

The rays of light cast shadows and brights
     In valleys and crevices
I bow to such might

The descend I begin, slow and sure footed
     Back to the people
Who join me they wouldn't

As careful as I may try and try to be
    I slip and fall
Oh woe is me

And the people below hear not of my screams
    My bones they are broken
Skin ripped at the seams

Cursing and crying I cry to the Lord
    "How could you do this?
What is our accord?"

Smiling and serene it answers me back
    "You set yourself
Such a treacherous track

"And now you curse me after blessing before
     How can you doubt?
How are you not sure?"

At that point I saw the truth through the lies
     In spite of the pain
I attempted to rise

Asking for strength I crawled down the hill
     My body survived
By sheer force of will

Not only just mine, but the Lord's from on high
It will help when we ask
From the first till we die

Abstract World

A world of abstraction does not sound so bad
Much better than some dreams I have had

Reality has some monster and fear
In every moment they try to move near

In abstraction resides demons as well
Just pick you poision, the end can not dwell

A like my little world of beauty and hope
Perhaps abstract and real can have a chance to elope

They say there are two types of people on earth
There are talkers and doers and one gives some worth

Abstract or real, actions are key
Follow forth dreams with hearts souls and body

Continue to dream till the sweet bitter end
Go forth and make real your beautiful abstraction

Truth and Peril

The path of truth is wraught with peril
A path some need walk in their bones and marrow

No fear to be had
     From no worldly cad
          This form a mere fad
               No point in getting mad

Pass this along
      In words or in song

Truth is the way
      Tis no more to say

A Brief History of the Cosmos

10/5/2010

Gather round now, tis a tale to tell
Of Goddess and Gods the eternal well

From which we all drink
It comes from before there was time
When the universe had identity to find
And it began to think

All those forces and powers celest
Began to form up, not longer in jest

For a serious step the brink
Atoms collide as suns swirl and form
Planets become solid like pie crust, solid and warm
Away emtpiness does sink

A new void to be taken by those
Created at start in the begining they rose

The ONE and the many
The One was the top that none comprehend
The being of power, the start and the end
The provider of nothing and plenty

Below this were those not quiet the top
This made their power lust a bit tough to stop

But their quest it was empty
The Gods o the stars and lords out in space
     Existing before our little race
For them goes some empathy

Their tale is but sad for those few that have heard
The truth is funny, there is power in words

This is their end
It started with two near to one point
Gamira and Centuri their name did annoint
Story of two friends

One a galaxy center, a cluster of stars
Gamira enclosed billions including us and red Mars

Power to control his will out to send
No recognizable appearance we could see
His form was the stars, his conscience more free
His reality bends

Moving from away Centuri does creep
Like a partner in bed, closer they meet

But they are too cold or too hot
Centuri a hole, endless and black
Bright and early massive he sparked
Leaving a void with light showing not

Between these two titans stood the Goddess just one
The in-between the rocks and the sun

Trinity her lot
It was Glama her name, who brought them to come
To a gap that they filled with explosions done
Her attention got

Gamira the light, Centuri the hole
They went to eachother like fire to coal

Destruction

She waits now,
Eternal and pure
She know the one, the truth
The all
The ultimate
Mother

    I love poetry.

It can be whimsical or epic, unbearably long or just two memorable lines, mature and dark or light and childish.
