Through the longs nights of winter
With cold at the door Light yourself a fire And try to stay warm Indoors activities increase many fold Outdoor excursions Remain for those bold Sitting all cozy, looking through the glass Knowing all this Will soon come to pass A thanks must be given for all the warm nights For the beauty abounding In the white winter sights For family and friends who help pass the time A warm bed and blankets To lay in supine Long nights of winter Give one time to think To examine what's past New chains in the link The time and the freedom for skills to explore To light up the night As so many before This time in the warm with cold knocking outside Is a time for great love Creations arise Feasting and gifting and believing in acts That have us left wide eyed At their miraculousness So thanks be to winter For all of these points It is the best season I thus do annoint
