To Create Something Beautiful

To create something beautiful
    That is my dream
I would give up heart and soul
    It helps me it seems
Tis’ truly a noble goal
    All can appreciate
If success reached I will extol
    And then no longer hate
For when you have glimpsed true beauty
    In the minds eye
You know it your duty
    To re-create or try
To show that vision to the world
    Whether people listen or no
Whether with pictures song or words
Some must give it a go
The visions speak, you must understand
They talk and beg and entreat
Their power it overwhelms many man
Which itself is no small fact
Beautiful things posses a mind of their own
    That refuses to be controlled
Many other from this have flown
Instead of allowing destiny to unfold
But hard to accept responsibility is
    A tough bag to carry
Responsible, why?  The question persists
Whey must I be the one to tarry
Why pick me, I am no one special
Or pure, or strong, or great
It’s a hard line to be a vessel
    Maybe it’s a mistake!
But no mistakes come is beauty’s game
Only the best get put forward
It’s a honor don’t think it be lame
Your place of fame is assured
Fame…HA!  As if that’s something I want
    From this short lifetime
Although some perks it brings
Like dating only girls who are fine
To create something beautiful
    That is my dream
Toward this I do toil
Alone I go, don’t have no team
To help with my guest
To build the sweet and tart
But I will have success
    I’ve known from the start
My end will be seen
    My exit brief
I’ve read the moon
And seen it in my sleep
No fear of the next
For I know there’s after more
Out in the space time forgot
    I have traveled there before
A glimpse we sometimes get
When our mind tide is high
But most people soon forgot
    Close again their mind’s eye
LOE!  What a loss they must suffer
    For this close headedness
Perhaps they need a buffer
    To keep out the abyss
For a scary place it can be
    Out in the great beyond
Even those trained professionally
Can feel a bit scared of
It doesn’t come as any surprise
    That most turn away
Don’t wear sunglasses at sunrise
    Appreciate every day!
The colors, the smells, this world so sweet
    That it hurts deep down
If you look hard good people you meet
    Meet them with no frown
To create something beautiful
    That is my dream
Something all can share in full
    Regardless of world happening
Some Day
I don’t know when

Hush Sounds
By: Douglas Karson

The trees they speak
If you but listen hard
Their bark their teeth
The leaves their chord
Rustling as the wind flies through
Wishhhh Washhhh, silence ensues
These sounds begin to speak
If you sit for hours, days, or weeks
Speak of peace and balance found
Speak with only the slightest sound
SSSShhhhhh…listen
Do you hear it?
The voice of the empty
The space between
The rustle talks and shispers
But it never yells
Its voice is always quiet
And seldom heard
So when it screams at you
Better listen
The air, the leaves
Slowly falling through a chilled autumn air
They will land one day, they don’t know where
Where will they fall?
The leaves wonder oft
Catching the ground of landing on rock
Maybe a pile
There a small child
Will get joy from the lost life of a fallen leaf
Playing and laughing
You hear that?
Silence
The wind through the leaves
Laughter
Echoes in the background
Joy
Happiness the only sound
Not always the case
We have engineers and motors in this here race
Loud!
Destroyers of nature and man
Quiet
Shattered with the roar of a chainsaw
The leaves they are crying
Don’t you hear them weep?
The chainsaw draws blood
The SAP runs, thicker than blood!
And the forest cries
Its voice being silenced
Slowly
Painfully
Permanently
But hope endures
The tress will not stop their whispers
Into those willing to hear
And those who have no fear
Will be blessed
With the silence of the leaves
And the talk of the trees
Rebuilding slowly as we destroy fast
The very air
Socked with the burning of out machines
Our machines for power
For light
For transport
Even for flight!
Killing the earth with poison spit
Either us or nature must one day end it
A scary time will be coming
A time of change, none can see
A time of becoming upon us
A time when the world must repeat
And re-purge and re-cleanse and re-charge
It is due for a break
The trees tell me this
They whisper in their leaves
With the sweet wind making music as it runs through

Poetry End
By: Douglas Karson

A poet begins
From deep down within
And expands out and out
This art depends
On using a pen
To aside our fear and doubt
The tool it is strong
In verse or in song
Life would be cold without
It doesn’t take long
And there is never a wrong
To make something with your own clout

The poet begins
From deep down within
And flies to all the masses
They read it in parks
In light and in dark
And teach it to all the classes
The thoughts they gain power
Every minute and hour
In the minds of lads and lasses
The issues take shape
And we change the way
We go through all of our daily passes

My poet begins
From deep down within
And its voice will never be silent
Mad as a bull
It’ll push me and pull
Till it knows I’ve at least tried it
The voice from within
It comes on a whim
And lets out emotion that I’ve pent
Listen carefully now
For I’ll show you how
A year down the line you’ll know what I meant

Your poet begins
From deep down within
All you need do is listen
It will speak to you to
When you do feel blue
Heal emotion blows you’ve taken
How are you sure
Have you tried to write more?
Or have your tries always been fakin
Sorry I say
If you feel angry today
But this world is ours for the takin

Poetry begins
From outside and in
The worlds most good and its bad
A sweet sunset
Or a trip to the MET
Are more than a pass and a fad
Also with love
Damn cupid above
Makes all man feel like a young lad
But we also create
From that we most hate
And the stupid shit that makes us all mad

A poet ends
When he puts down the pen
And the words no longer flow
Your poet ends
Why never my friend
This fact I need you to know
The poetry ends
When the world stops to spin
And humanity does exist for no mo’
My poet ends
With a gracious bend
And closes out a wonderful show

A Bit About God

When you look at the world, what do you see?
Society?
Friends?
Family?
Nature?
People?
See it all!
You must see the connections!
The connections between us, them, and them
We are interlaced like a series of crisscrossing spider webs
You must look beyond your web
See how in the distance your web turns into another
You web is never isolated, never truly alone
Some people have great, large webs, where their lives send vibrations through the webs
of countless others
While most of us have small webs, that only effect those near and dear
Localized, but no less important
Even within nature are separate interconnected webs.
Webs that connect us to the earth
We are all spiders
Building
Moving
Destroying
Creating
All involved in the same cycle
The most noble endeavor is to not just try to increase the size and beauty of your web, its
richness, but to do so for everyone you meet.  All those webs that touché yours,
all those fellow spiders that cross your path.
Touch their webs with gentle hands
Do not sever the wonderful silk threads and send them into the abyss!
Regardless of whether we are all even the same species of spiders
Among humans, animals, and plants, tendencies differ considerably
Some beings prey on lesser webs, enfolding them into their own
Some build new webs and then move on, leaving them for others to maintain
Most merely keep their web they have taken the time to build
All are necessary components of this brilliant weave of life!
Take a step back
Examine the wonderful threads and see God in the connections
All webs are God
All spiders are God
All molecules within every spider and thread is God
All the space between is God
God is the being in its full existence and beyond, more than spiders

God is Allah
God is Buddah
God is Christ
God is Moses
God is Confucius
God is Jupiter and Zeus
God is the spirits of the trees and wind, and all that is
God is everything
God is nothing
God is every atom
God is the entire universe
God is all that is, was, and will never be
God is male
God is female
God is the both, the mix, the balance
God is the opposite, the destruction, the darkness and upheaval
God is the unification, the creator of the light
It is negative space, dark matter, the moon and the sun
God is music
God is silence
God is in every moment of every day we live and die and all the states between
God is above
God is below
God is the waking paradox, the end and beginning
It is active
We are active
We are God
We are nothing
Its lives in each of us
Waiting
Listening
Guiding
God is neither good nor evil, but both
There can be no destruction without creation
No creation without destruction
An earthquake is the creation of new earth
A hurricane was created to destroy
There can be no new without removing the old
These are the truths God has commanded
Live your life in beauty and light
Hollow be my name
When you are wanting, I shall provide
When you are tired, you shall endure
Earning is better than taking
Loving is better than hating
Killing is mine alone
I am present but you must listen
I will help but you must ask
I am a beacon of light but you must look
I give you no commands but merely paths of truth, contentment, and joy
The choice to follow my paths lies on your shoulders
Do no curse me if you should stray for I see all
Believe in me and you will believe in yourself
Doubt and you will doubt all
An existence after this reality exists although you won’t know it when you get there
Each plane is a transition to the next
Time holds no bar over me
I am master of time, space and all in between
Heed my word
All Gods are me
Do not be deceived by any who claim they are not my children
I am mother to all Gods
Father to all creations
I turned my darkness into light
I wrote the laws that bind
All good is relative
Good to who and what is always a significant question.  Ask it often
One’s good is another’s evil
One’s freedom is another’s bondage
All is balanced
All is planned
I see all for I am all
I see none for I am none
I am both and neither
I am the paradox that speaks truth
Heed my words

    I love poetry.

It can be whimsical or epic, unbearably long or just two memorable lines, mature and dark or light and childish.
