Fall into Fall
The warm net of oranges and browns Embrace Eyes filled with colour While greys bring up mists of fantasy Spreading across the great plane sky Clouds Drift along Plans made in nights grown Longer Darker Colder I've begun to wear my night gown again Fattening darkness for winter feast "At least I'm not going bald" Said the evergreen Feeling envy for the colour that surrounds The sounds and smells of leaves on the ground RESOUND Nostrils catch odors of decay Sweet rotting stench Leaves spent pass along into the firmament Swirling in the breeze I envy their ease Trees wave goodbye to their short lived friends They pretend not to mind us seeing them naked They shiver in the cold breeze I zip my coat I lower my hat And walk along Welcome To autumn
