Festive Season

16/12/2014

The festive season, festive cheer
Party Party Party!
Feast Feast Feast!
Most importantly though, spend some time with those most dear

Make some light in the growing dark
   Some warmth to your home
Reflect back on the year that's passed
To see how much we've grown

Holiday time is one of excess but it has value
Would you care for a drink?
A second helping for me
Take some chocolate from the tree
It has been so long since I have seen you.  A heartfelt hug just on cue

A celebration of our daily gifts
   Family, food, friends, and song
We celebrate and depend on each
   As winter comes along

The festive season, light up the dark!
   With light from the heart
   With pure compassion's spark
Of this race and time we are all part

So lets join our hearts together
To get us through the nasty weather
We head into the night singing and cheering
   Know that winter in leering
We know it will be long cold and tough
Cold dark nights are a firm rebuff
With friends make it merry
To make the light shine in our hearts
Let that light fill the dark
For times will always come
When lives are less than fun
The worst of storms must also pass
These lessons learned from the past
Festive season
Help us remind
Its not so bad this whole mankind

We party
Feast
Drink
Cheer
As we bring a light to the new year!

The Mission Of Rhythm

8/12/2014

Rhythm is given mission in rhyme
these words keep on flowin in time
Stop before I touch the divine!
then again, that might be fine

got to rise
got to fall
got to fell it all
don't stall

I'm appalled at how many end up fretting from the truth they're forgetting making choices regretting for on nothing they're betting and they wonder why they continue to lose

I chose to let loose.  The noose of abuse has exceeded its use. What's more, I've past those stages of youth and prospered to boot

there's my truth

coming through word and through passion.
blazing it's own path no matter the fashion
through knowledge this happens
on studies best get crackin

lest we repeat the seat of great evils past
are we blinded by their shadows cast?
forward rhythms is a path
peaceful and strong for us all

we must lift the bottom then we never can fall!

but we don't do that for we oft get trapped in our little habitat of daily habit

we must change our routine
we can grow as a team
we can see the unseen
feel more than hear in our hearts not our ears

this is the path that will take us from fear

then together we can rise from the sadness of every day life
with our hearts united or future is bright!
this rhyme is right
this is the mission
the happiness for which we are wishin
don't get mad
let's change the system

Waiting Time

Waiting
Waiting
All this waiting
It show no sign of soon abating for the future depends on patience

Action
Acting
With good planning
Cost time now for future ease. A future that's across the seas.
Sitting on a beach.
Amongst the trees

I'll take that trade if it please the powers at be who are the ones keeping track of me, my family, and all the people I see.
Big brother is watching

Bureaucracy lines to avoid fines, fees and so many difficulties
This is the way it will always be when starting out on a great journey

Only possible to return if planned thoroughly else people questions your reliability

Can't have that now
So waiting
Planning
Applying
Informing

Stamps, photos, forms and fees.  Only through the system is there peace else you make the challenge increase.
Waiting for my turn and more
WIll serve me as I near the door
The exit from this current life
Except the company of my wife
Who sallies forth with me tonight

Out unto the great unknown, When we return we're sure to've grown into our next phase.
May take years or days
Who can say
Yet we try to predict the future along our way and its strong grip on what will happen on this trip.
Only time can tell it.

    Douglas Karson

    I love poetry.

It can be whimsical or epic, unbearably long or just two memorable lines, mature and dark or light and childish.
