What infinity of wonder presents the mighty sky filled
Invisible sights play within the billions of twinkling lights Daring us to explore And we do Because we want to know more More about the great big universe which may turn out to be infinitesimally small We want to know it all A single infinite point to contain all that we know and can ever know Seen every clear night; the brilliant star show The Milky Way we affectionately call home A small disc in the vast countess bounds of space Our atoms came from the first stars in our galaxy Our galaxy stars can from the first stars in the universe We were all once suns Giant and proud. Powerful furnaces burning and churning matter and energy to create all that is, was, and will ever be. An astounding creation A sublime variety Look into the sky and know that was once home That is our collective past It is the same for every creature on this small blue rock we call home It is the same for our fathers and mothers all the way back to the dawn of man So much wonder in one place So much to discover We alone are the first generation of peoples to have the technology to give us the joy of witnessing first hand the birth and death of stars. What wonders will the future hold? Some are filled with terror at the thought of how tiny and insignificant we are next to such a vast sky. Me… I am filled with joy, gratitude, and wonder to consciously witness the wonder that is us amongst the great night Filled so brilliantly With an endless plethora of light
