We can naught be but what we are
Sayeth the comet unto the star As they dance together in the endless beyond Cosmic hummingbirds fluttering across the flowers of creation Yet neither is my station and my light shines as but a brief flair Incredibly Wonderfully Brief Long enough to learn that to truly live is all too rare and to die all too common Our time spent on this blue rock we call home Hurling through space at an alarming rate Indisputable proof that anything can be normalized rationalized Doing our best to face down fear whilst always aware that our end is near Do the stars feel fear? Do they feel joy and pain? Two sides of the same Dancing through the dream till our comet runs out of steam and we hurtle to the ground as shooting stars for some hopeful child to wish upon Time not to waste With the speed of the cosmos we must make haste To create a better reality A manifest destiny Powerful manifesto Changing without understanding Faster than society arranging out of control IT ALWAYS WAS! Do we control the coming of day? Do we control our lives’ way? Our perception only I say I am a comet Born of stars That’s me
