A small poem of thanks for the good in this life
A park bench in the sun thinking "isn't this nice" A small child's laughter that rings of pure joy A lover's caress that's the real McCoy For although there be ills and evils around Villains and thieves achieving renown Crooks walking free, murderers get away None can compete with a beautiful day I thanks all the trees for being so green I thank all the flowers for their color's seen I thanks all the birds for the songs in my ears I thanks all the sadness for the truth in my tears Music and painting and sculpture oh my Machines that allow us to reach for the sky Computers connect with no distance to great Plants, animals and farmers who make hunger abate The kindness of strangers The empathy of friends Respecting the dangers A big thanks to send For this body is strong This breath keeps on breathing This life it is great And all love is receiving Thank You.
