Yoga, for Dayananda, is the pursuit of clarity of perspective.
With a firm but compassionate compassionate style, he works with alignment and breath. Although challenging and dynamic, he likes to play and laugh as part of teaching. His mother was the first teacher and she guided from early on in the ways of breath. He treasures precious memories of her calming guidance with 3 deep breathes into the belly. Training and teaching since 2008 his life really changed in 2012 when he met Yogi Ashokananda. He taught Douglas how to be compassionate and bequeathed his yogic name; Dayananda. It means the bliss of mercy. Teaching style, tone, and knowledge come directly from Yogi's lineage. With trainings in Prana Kriya, Himalayan Hatha, and meditation techniques, he continues the practice of how to be present, past and future. Yoga is a practice. Regular and constant. Like any other practice, the goal is not to become perfect but to have constant improvement. This sometimes comes in the form of acceptance and recognising our already perfect nature. |
